[Fully Funded] ASEAN Youth Empowerement for Peace Building and Tolerance

24 November

Program Overview:

The ASEAN Youth Empowerment for Peacebuilding and Tolerance initiative, led by the ASEAN Foundation in collaboration with the Mission of Canada to ASEAN, is designed to foster unity and prosperity within the ASEAN Community. This program offers a platform for young people across ASEAN to engage in dialogue, share perspectives, and collaborate to promote peace and tolerance throughout the region.

The program invites passionate ASEAN youth to participate in a one-day regional workshop scheduled for February 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia. This gathering will bring together youth, communities, and policymakers, uniting them in the shared goal of fostering a harmonious ASEAN community.

Program Objectives:

The initiative aims to:

  • Host a regional workshop where ASEAN youth can discuss their views, insights, and aspirations on peacebuilding, tolerance, and diversity.
  • Equip ASEAN youth with essential knowledge and skills for advancing peace and tolerance across the region.

Program Benefits:

  • Gain Key Insights: Explore the latest issues on peacebuilding and tolerance in ASEAN. Participants will gain practical tools and knowledge to promote inclusivity in diverse communities. The workshop will conclude with a joint commitment by participants to advocate for peace and tolerance in ASEAN.
  • Connect with Like-Minded Peers: Join a community of youth, experts, and policymakers in interfaith dialogue and networking sessions. This gathering fosters meaningful exchanges, and participants may also have the opportunity to join the ASEAN Youth Cohesion Network post-program.
  • Engage with ASEAN Officials: The workshop will feature experts from the ASEAN Secretariat and other ASEAN entities who will share their insights and approaches to reducing intolerance and discrimination.
